Manager
Dr. Andrea Sinclair has over 15 years of experience conducting assessment and evaluation research in education, military, and organizational settings. Dr. Sinclair earned her Ph.D. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from Virginia Tech. She applies her training as an I-O psychologist to projects for a variety of clients and purposes. For example, she’s designed and conducted studies to investigate the validity of large-scale student assessments for multiple states; she’s developed a prototype battery of video game-like performance assessments for the US Army Research Institute for the Behavioral and Social Sciences; and, she’s led a job analysis of the coaching profession for the International Coach Federation (ICF). As the manager of a program that specializes in validity studies in education, she is particularly interested in education projects that allow her to apply her training as an I-O psychologist—for example, conducting job analyses to support teacher evaluation systems, identifying and developing non-cognitive predictors of career-readiness, and validating teacher credentialing systems. One of her areas of expertise is helping her clients to develop Theories of Action (TOA) for their programs and/or assessments. Using the TOA as the guiding framework, she helps her clients design and conducts research studies to address gaps in evidence to support the claims in their TOA.
