Alexandria, Virginia—The Human Resources Research Organization (HumRRO), an industry leader offering a science-based approach to talent management, education, assessment, credentialing, and program evaluation, is pleased to announce that Michael Walker, Ph.D., has joined the organization as a principal scientist.
“My dedication to equity and access has framed my decades of experience with assessment research, design, operation, and evaluation,” said Walker. “I see this same dedication in the work HumRRO conducts—advancing assessment science and practice so we can more accurately measure every person’s capabilities.”
Walker currently serves as the president of the National Council on Measurement in Education (NCME) and will preside over its 2024 Annual Meeting, which begins on Thursday in Philadelphia. Several other HumRRO experts will be presenting at the NCME conference this week.
“Michael’s leadership as NCME President and many years of assessment industry experience have been very impactful on the field of psychometrics and measurement,” said Harold Doran, Ed.D., Vice President at HumRRO. “His expertise will add tremendous value to our mission and our goal to advance the science and practice of measurement.”
With decades of experience in the field of testing, Walker is a recognized expert in all aspects of designing and maintaining testing programs. His published work includes fair test design and use, maintaining and transitioning testing programs; test scaling and equating; test reliability; and essay scoring. Walker holds a Ph.D. in quantitative psychology and an M.S. in statistics from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
“As a new member of the HumRRO family, I look forward to working together to add to HumRRO’s strong legacy of assessment and applied research,” Walker said.
