Alexandria, Virginia—The Human Resources Research Organization (HumRRO), an industry leader offering a science-based approach to talent management, education, assessment, credentialing, and program evaluation, is pleased to announce that Richard J. Patz, Ph.D., has been elected as a member of its Board of Trustees, effective immediately.
A distinguished research advisor in the Berkeley Evaluation and Assessment Research Center at the University of California, Patz currently serves as the Executive Director of the National Council on Measurement in Education (NCME), which will host its 2024 Annual Meeting from April 11-14 in Philadelphia. Several other HumRRO experts will be presenting at the NCME conference this week.
“HumRRO is a mission-driven organization with a powerful impact and a well-deserved reputation for quality,” said Patz. “I am honored to join their Board of Trustees and look forward to supporting their growth and evolution.”
In addition to his role at NCME, Patz has extensive practitioner experience consulting for clients in the private sector, academia, and government on organizational change, measurement and statistics, and growth and transformation using scientifically grounded principles. He served in technical and leadership roles, first with McGraw-Hill Education and then with ACT Inc., a mission-driven nonprofit organization creating solutions for K-12 education, college, and career readiness. At ACT, Patz was chief measurement officer, responsible for research and development, and chief executive officer of its California-based technology subsidiaries.
“Rich has focused his esteemed career on the same values we hold at HumRRO—contributing to science, society, and the profession,” said President and CEO Suzanne Tsacoumis, Ph.D. “In addition to the footprint he has made in the education measurement and evaluation arena, Rich has a strong corporate governance perspective having served at the helm of a nonprofit organization. This makes him an excellent addition to our Board.”
