The Human Resources Research Organization (HumRRO) is pleased to sponsor the Annual Meredith P. Crawford Fellowship in Industrial-Organizational (I-O) Psychology. A non-renewable $12,000 stipend will be awarded to a graduate student demonstrating exceptional research skills. The recipient will be required to progress satisfactorily towards the completion of the dissertation and present his/her research during a visit to HumRRO. Additional opportunities to interact with HumRRO staff may be provided. The financial award will be distributed across two payments, one in August and one in December.
To be eligible for consideration, an applicant must be a doctoral candidate in I-O Psychology or a closely related discipline whose dissertation topic has been proposed and approved by his/her graduate faculty. Since one of the purposes of the Fellowship is to provide financial support while the student completes his/her dissertation, applicants should be actively involved in the process of completing their dissertation research but not substantially completed or finished at the time of application.
Applicants will be evaluated on the basis of their research promise, academic achievement, and professional productivity. Finalists may be interviewed.
Each applicant must provide HumRRO with the following:
- A completed application form.
The application form includes sections for identifying information, educational information, and employment history.
- A personal statement.
This is a very important part of your application. Your personal statement should summarize:
- your career goals and professional or academic interests and achievements
- your dissertation research plan, idea, or vision and how you came to it
- what you plan to do for your dissertation specifically
- how this research will contribute to the field
Your complete response should not exceed 1,500 words.
- Three completed recommendation forms.
HumRRO requires completed recommendation forms from three persons qualified to evaluate your academic and professional qualifications. Please select two graduate faculty members who are familiar with your academic work and one other professionally relevant person, such as an employer, who can speak to your qualifications. It is important that you provide accurate email addresses for each recommender, as we will email a link to them to complete the ratings online. Recommendation forms are due to HumRRO by July 1st.
- A transcript from each institution attended for graduate academic work.
A transcript is required from each institution you have attended for graduate academic work. Unofficial transcripts may be uploaded as part of the online application form. HumRRO reserves the right to require official academic transcripts from the fellowship award recipient.
Various application materials may arrive separately, but must arrive on or before the deadline.
HumRRO accepts applications from April 1 to July 1. All application materials must be received by HumRRO on or before July 1st.
Information and Application Materials
Once the application form has been completed and submitted, you will be provided a link to the recommendation form to send to the three qualified evaluators.
